Pastor Florent Giacomin

WE ARE PRESENT AT...

PASTORS IN QUEBEC

Florent Giacomin

Pastor Florent was converted and felt the call of God when he was just a child. That is why, at the age of 16, he dedicated his life to the ministry.

Over the years, and with the experience he acquired, he was entrusted with various mandates within the C.Y.E., notably in the youth and education departments.

In 1999, he joined the leadership of the ÉAJC as assistant pastor in the mother church (ÉAJC-Montréal). He held this position until 2009, when he was appointed associate pastor, alongside his mentor, Fr. Luis Carlos Fontalvo. Following Fontalvo's death in April 2011, Florent was given the great mandate to succeed him as senior pastor of the ÉAJC.

A dynamic preacher and much appreciated teacher, Pastor Florent is supported in his ministry by his wife Daphne, whose talents as a singer and worship leader have blessed many.

Pastor Florent is a graduate of the American institutions International School of Ministry and Vision International University.

Bernard Giacomin

Born in France, it is however in Quebec,
at the age of 32, that Pastor Bernard Giacomin will be converted to Christ.

After a pastorate in the city of Shawinigan, he left Canada in 1985 to fulfill a first missionary mandate in his native country. He founded the Centre Apostolique de Jésus-Christ in the city of Narbonne, a church affiliated with the ÉAJC network.

In 1996, while leaving for Africa, Pastor Giacomin and his wife Paulette responded to a distant and profound call from God. They settled in the city of Pointe-Noire (Congo-Brazzaville) and assisted a young church recently integrated into the YEC network. All these years spent in the missionary field were supported by the YEC.

Returning to Canada in 1998, Pastor Giacomin now serves as an assistant pastor at the ÉAJC-Montréal. In addition to this, he and his wife form a team that is particularly devoted and appreciated by couples and families.

Luis Carlos Fontalvo

Founding pastor

Pastor Fontalvo was born in Colombia (South America) and converted to Christ at the age of 12. However, his call to Quebec did not come until 1968, while he was pursuing theological studies, in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Married at first in 1971, he made his home in Montreal and founded the ÉAJC there. These early years of ministry were blessed with the conversion of men and women who would prove to be pillars of the present congregation as the years went by.

Following the death of his first wife in 1986, Pastor Fontalvo remarried to our beloved Sister Catherine. Together they were a source of inspiration and guidance for many workers and believers.

After 40 years of ministry, Pastor Fontalvo passed away in April 2011. He served as senior pastor and president of the YECS network for all these decades..
