ABOUT US

MISSION

This is our mission statement.

"Bringing people in our immediate environment
to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and encourage
the missionary work that has been assigned to us".

This common goal guides us in our relationship with the
community, but also in our relationships with the
different churches on the island of Montreal and with members of the
of our network of daughter churches.

As you may have noticed, we are
also very attached to our slogan:

"FROM EVERYWHERE AND FOR EVERYONE"

WE BELIEVE

HERE ARE THE ESSENTIALS OF OUR BELIEFS

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and the basis of conduct and faith. (II Timothy 3:16)
  • There is one true and indivisible God, the "I AM", who has been revealed to us as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (John 8:58; 1 John 5:20)
  • God became flesh in Jesus Christ, miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, having lived without sin, both true God and true man. In him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead in the body. (Colossians 2:9; John 1:1)
  • Man, by his nature, is inherently sinful and incapable of being saved by his own works. (Romans 3:10-11)
  • Jesus Christ has fully and eternally paid the penalty for sin by his death on the cross. (Romans 5:8;6:23)
  • We are saved by grace through faith and obedience to the Gospel. (Ephesians 2:8; Acts 3:19)
  • Like the Apostles, we practice water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38)
  • The baptism in the Holy Spirit, confirmed by speaking in tongues, is a subsequent experience of salvation. This baptism and the nine gifts of the Spirit still operate in the Church today. (Acts 1:5; I Corinthians 12:7-11)
  • The believer should live a life of holiness and observe the precepts of the Bible, which include the Lord's Supper as a commemoration of His death and tithes and offerings as God's financial plan for His Church. (Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32; Hebrews 12:14)
  • We will all have to appear before Christ and give an account of our lives. His judgment will result in life or eternal condemnation. (II Corinthians 5:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17)

TESTIMONIALS

1 Thessalonians 5:16
"ALWAYS BE CHEERFUL."

If the Lord asks, it can be done!

But, how to remain joyful in times of illness, grief, distress at work, financial problems...?

One day, during a walk with my wife, Manon, I had told her that, in spite of the great distress we were experiencing at that time, I was a fundamentally happy man in life. This week, the Lord made me understand, through the 2 biblical passages in this text, that this did not come from me. It came from the work that the Lord did at the cross.

"Indeed, our present distresses are fleeting and light compared to the unsurpassable weight of eternal glory they prepare for us. And we do not focus our attention on visible things, but on realities that are still invisible. For the visible realities last only for a time, but the invisible ones will remain forever." 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Dearly beloved, always be happy.

André Bernard

Children

Sunday school is offered on Sunday mornings for all children from 2 to 17 years old. A nursing room and a nursery are available (0 - 2 years). Biblical teachings and activities are organized with the monitors to allow the children to discover the love of Jesus and the different biblical stories and teachings. In addition, the Children's Education Department (DEDE) offers various exciting and fun activities throughout the year such as the Festival for the Love of Children, organized in August at the Little Italy Park.

Youth

Every Friday evening, the youth group gathers to spend a dynamic time of sharing and exchange. These meetings are accompanied by moments of celebration, joyful and frank discussions, but also teachings aimed at encouraging each young person in his or her walk with God. The watchword? Simply come with a heart that is willing and ready to experience God's presence in the midst of other young people with the same desire!

Women

The women's group, under the responsibility of Sr. Paulette Giacomin, meets throughout the year for different activities and prayer meetings that promote the spiritual growth of the women of our assembly.

Men

The men's group, under the responsibility of Mr. Ramon Aguilar, meets throughout the year for different activities such as lunches, retreats and prayer vigils. Sharing moments are also organized with the objective of allowing a constant spiritual growth of the men in the faith.

Family/Couple

If you are a family or couple in need of listening and counseling, our pastoral team is here to speak with you in a caring, compassionate and truthful manner.
Also, if you are a couple wishing to get married, a marriage preparation course is also offered to all.

Evangelization

Various activities are organized throughout the year with members of the congregation. From movie nights to evangelism days in the parks, the idea is to announce the good news and let Jesus shine in us, while being a help to the one who is in need! We want to give everyone the opportunity to know and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.

Music

The worship department, composed of singers and musicians, meets every Sunday morning to lead the congregation in a time of praise and worship for our Lord Jesus Christ. Being part of a multicultural church, the worship team makes sure to bring songs from various languages such as French, English, Spanish, Creole, Lingala and more.

Prayer & Intercession

A prayer and intercession meeting is held every Friday, from 7 to 8 pm online with Fr. Florent Giacomin. As the epistle of Philippians 4:16 recommends, we raise our needs to God with prayers and supplications, with thanksgiving.

PUBLICATIONS

Jeannette Hernandez and Beatriz Lopez have joined their efforts to offer to the members of the CYSA and to the different services that operate in it a series of tools and writings, generally produced in the three main languages of the CYSA (French, English and Spanish). These tools take the form of a diary with daily reading, teaching booklets, or any other instrument useful for the spiritual edification of the members of the CYSA.

AUDIOVISUAL

With the rapid evolution of new technologies, it is sometimes difficult to stay up to date with the best in the audiovisual field. However, this is the challenge that the audiovisual team has set itself. The team handles with brilliance sound consoles, microphones, translation systems, projection systems, video consoles, cameras, lights, computers, internet and closed circuit broadcasting, etc. They make sure to serve with dedication and discretion at each meeting of the ÉAJC.

BAPTISM

A baptism preparation course is offered to all those who wish to make public their decision to follow Jesus Christ. This course is given by Fr. André Bernard and its goal is to help you better understand what baptism represents according to the biblical teachings.

ADMINISTRATION

The administration team of the ÉAJC is in place to ensure the smooth running of the administrative, financial and organizational management. An annual meeting is held as prescribed by the laws of the land to present a financial statement from January 1 to December 31 of the previous year to the members of the church.

NEW

Have you been at the ÉAJC for less than 5 years? If so, we invite you to our various meetings organized throughout the year, which are dedicated to welcoming you and facilitating your integration into the church.
The ÉAJC is a big family and we are eager to get to know you and to build relationships that will allow us to grow together in faith.

RECEPTION AND PORTERS

Our welcoming team, commonly known as the doorkeepers, will be happy to welcome you at our Sunday morning and Wednesday evening assemblies from the front door to the sanctuary. Whether you are born again or a person who wants to know what Christians do on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings or Friday evenings, we have a team waiting for you and ready to answer your questions!

DECORATION

This ministry is supported by Mrs. Maura Sandoval, who brings us her advice and talent to regularly renew the decoration of the church as well as occasional events.
With a limited budget, she constantly creates a sober and peaceful atmosphere to please everyone.

MAINTENANCE

Mr. Gilles Longpré's perseverance in the ongoing maintenance and repairs of our building is a real blessing. Before and after each meeting, he is on hand to prepare and maintain the premises.

TRANSLATION

A translation team is in place to offer you a real-time translation service into French, English and Spanish.
